Koreans subsist entirely on rice and straw. Why on earth would there be any need for ketchup? Who puts ketchup on their rice or straw? Fresh food? What's that? Potatoes? Huh?
Funny!!

Does anyone familiar with the area knows if there are such markets in Dalmaji Hill or near Hyundae Beach?
We are moving in 3 weeks there and I believe we could live on my own chinese-style food: styr fries with fresh meats, veggies, onions, carrots, brocoli, garlic, peppers, soja, mushrooms, noodles, soups, etc. I shouldn't have a problem finding these, should I? What about potatoes?
What about shops with some international products such as cereal, ketchup, majonaise, regular pasta, mermelade, olive oil, olives, etc.?
All the stuff you mentioned is widely available everywhere.
Don't know about Dalmaji, but there is Haeundae market right near the beach. Where you can get dirt cheap very fresh produce of all sorts. For stuff like mayo and pasta your best bet is probably E-Mart which is located by the Jung Dong subway exit, which is the stop after Haeundae. Or try Save Zone right in Haeundae town center.
