Namcheon Mega Mart is now carrying 3 varieties of McLelland Seriously Strong cheddar. The strong one is actually sharp, haven't tried the mild ones.

Now if only they'd get some frakking maple syrup~

Yeah it's good stuff - best cheddar cheese in Busan by a long way. Centum Homeplus have been stocking those 3 for over a year now - Emart haeundae just recently as well..

The extra mature is a really decent find for this country...goes great with a nice bottle of red..

What gets me is that they are selling the serious mature for just under 15,000. The last time I got it at Homeplus it was just under 10,000. That is one serious mark up.

Does anyone know what the current price is at Homeplus these days? A friend argued that changes in price were due to the economic crisis, however that Cheese is Scottish and the pound to won rate has pretty much remained the same. I also always presumed that the reason it was in Homeplus in the first place was the Tesco connection.

If you want maple syrup go to the basement floor (B1F) in Shinsaegae near Bexco. They have a grocery mart that sells tons of foreign food items. Which includes about ten different maple syrups, frozen hot wings, tortillas, and tons of spices and sauces. The grocery mart is easy to find as it is near the escalators opposite the wine stall and cheese/deli meat stall.

Yes, they finally brought in Haloumi, and I made some saganaki the other day; excellent, although for those trying it at home, cut it both width-wise and cut it to half the thickness so that there's more of a 'melt.'

I have. It is so good! I have that with my breakfast sometimes.
