I think some of us may have noticed the new 'RAK N WOK' on the 1st floor of the 02 cinema building in PNU, but has anyone eaten there yet? I found their website Rak n Wok and the menu doesn't look too bad. Doesn't say anything about the prices though. Would be nice if it turned out to be a decent spot, there's a sort of world beer cafe right next door, have a nice meal and follow it up with a few nice imported brews. . .

I might be going tonight, if anyone else has some info please post~

I thought it was greasy and overpriced. My buddy is vege. Got fried Broccoli and garlic for $12...geesh! I don't recommend the place, though it's clean and has a nice view of the highway. biggrin.gif

Yet another Korean outfit proves they don't know the definition of vegetable. From their website's menu page under the Vegetable section:

QUOTE
020 Blanched Lettuce & Dried Shrimp w/ Oyster Sauce
021 Asparagus w/ Crab Meat Sauce
022 Stir-Fried Vegetable w/ Shrimp Sauce
023 Assorted Mushrooms w/ Oyster Sauce

I've lost count of the times I've specifically enquired if there's any seafood in the dishes at restaurants in Korea only to discover assorted shellfish when it's delivered. I used to wonder what the restaurateurs' plan is when someone with an allergy to that stuff dies from eating it until it dawned on me: all the Koreans with that allergy probably died by the time they were two years old!

Some people are vegetarians for religious reasons, some are vegetarians for ethical reasons, and some are vegetarians because their bodies demand it. All three concepts seem to be lost on cooks in this country.

I've been there several times. I think the food is alright, but not worth the price. I won't go again if I'm paying.
