I don't know if this is old news, but I was pretty happy when I found it.

It also made me wonder if there are any other fast food joints I don't know about.

that's exactly how i felt. it is on the second floor in the food court. i went to sasang for Mc'D's but got there too late for breakfast and headed over to Emart to shop. Missing an egg mcmuffin was the best thing i could have done.

Actually Popeyes Chicken is in almost every E-mart I know of..Guseodong(PNU), Ssasang etc... Also there is one in Haeundae under the aquarium.

I am sorry I have been to those Popeyes. BBQ chicken is better than the Popeyes here. They need to import some brothers to show them how to make proper Popeyes brand cajun chicken like the ones I get from teh Popeyes at home.

Well I have not been to BBQ Chicken recently but did like it. Also actually I like the taste of Popeye's but usually the only thing I get there now is biscuits. This is because there is something which is used in it that is too strong for me, so I stopped eating their chicken several years ago.

i can definitely relate. i'm from Atlanta, and no one does fried chicken like the south. on a brighter note...i've got two friends coming in May who are planning to open an American style deli and pub serving everytthing from fried chicken to REAL hot wings to Philly cheesesteaks. I'll keep u posted on the details.

That's great news. Busan needs more of this sort of thing. Location and knowing what your customers need are essential here though when you are offering something non Korean. Some businesses suceed such as OBriens and others fail, I am thinking of that diner style place in Seomyeon some years back.

So good luck to them, keep us posted.

Thanks for the advice. But it'll probably end up being in Gimhae which is badly in need of a foreigner friendly hangout. I figure if they have a decent selection of draught and bottled beer, they won't go bust. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Matt Sid,
Could this place in Somyeon you mention be 'Cameo' it was right by Lotte, on the street opposite the hotel side. Their chefs were trained in Portland, Oregon and the menu had pancakes, waffles, chicken, omlettes, salads, etc. I remember it closed in about 1998. The reason was supposedly that they were going to be moving, but we never found out where. What a sad day in Busan. Then you might mean 'Fat Joe's' which was on the opposite side and the same street as the area Catholic church. Things I remember on that menu were putin and Tim Horton's coffee. It seems like the last time I ate there was 2005 or 2006.

Now Kimhae does have quite a number of foreigners, so there should be enough support for this kind of venture.
