I don't know if the other mega stores are carrying them, but if you happen to be in the PNU area drop by GS Mart. They have smoked turkey legs for 6,500 won. A bit pricey I thought, but after going at it with a knife I ended up with enough meat for at LEAST 4 fat sandwiches. It's moist and dark reddish..not like the typical white turkey. A nice treat between Thanksgivings!

If you do make it to GS, it's 1 aisle over from the milk, in vacuum-packed bags. Don't give up when you're slicing it because there are several layers of tendons and such, but much more meat below. Well worth the perseverance..

Is this just the regular convenience store GS Mart or more like a supermarket?

It's the supermarket, which usually sucks arse compared with the other places, but in this case..

Exit Jangjeondong (1 stop after PNU) subway on the right side (sorry, don't know exit #). Walk left up to the next intersection, then right about 3 blocks.

These turkey legs may not be as much of a "find" as I thought, since I also just saw them at the PNU black market shop behind the McDonalds.

PNU black market shop? Where is this place? Are you referring to the McDonalds near the main campus gate...or the McDonalds closer to the subway? I'd like to check this place out.

The one near the main gate. Walk down that small street (between McD's & Pizza Hut) only about 15 meters and it's on the left. It's an obscure Ma & Pa-type convenience store, but inside they have a moderate selection of foreign items: turkey legs, sour cream, spirits/wine, frozen breaded chicken wings and drumsticks, smoked salmon, etc. Worth a gander if you're in the area..

Ok...I know where that place is at. I pass it all the time but have never wandered into it. Thanks for the info.

Smoked turkey legs are pretty much available anywhere, E-mart, Mega-mart, Homever, Home Plus, 7-11 on occassion.
FYI, smoked is a loose term. Much like the vast majority of smoked salmon, there is no actual smoking going on. It's a brine curing solution with other chemicals in both cases.

In some cases that may be true. However, I come from B.C., where a great deal of smoked salmon is produced and marketed. Smoked salmon is a West Coast Native traditional curing process that does indeed involve smoke. In addition, there are several commercial producers who use wood smoke in the curing process.

By the way, checked the price of these when I was at the PNU black market today and they're only 3,000 won (as opposed to 6,900 at GS Mart and I assume other places)! Again, a great deal for the amount of meat it yields, and just nice to have something different for a change.
