Found a good, cheap Italian restaurant in Yang-jeong, 2 subway stops from Seomyeon on the orange line.

They do nice olive oil pasta, and tomato pasta, for around 6,000 I think. Portions are fairly small but tasty.

Pizzas are 9,000 and really good - cooked in a pizza oven so the base is perfect. (Be careful if you ask for the 'vegetable pizza' tho, as a friend said it comes with salad and dressing on top?!).

They do cheeses for 15,000, where you get little piles of 4 different cheeses and sun-dried tomatoes on the side.

The smoked salmon salad is 10,000, with plenty of salmon (and dressing - ask for it on the side if you don't like too much of it!).

They also have alot of different wines on the menu.

The main guy speaks English too.

Directions - Go out Exit 1 at Yang-jeong subway and walk straight for a few yards, and you'll be there. Big sign saying The Garlic above the entrance

Phone number is 051-866-5001

Went there the other week, not a bad spot. Atmosphere is great, subdued lighting (unlike the popular Korean supernova supermarket style lighting), wooden tables and wooden pillars divide up the fairly large restaurant. Pasta was Ok, friend had a cream sauce, which they made vegetarian, and we had 2 plates of the sausage chili pasta. Both plates needed a few more herbs and spices, came off a little bland for me. Pizza was definitely the best thing we tried, real chunks of mozzarella cheese on each piece and a really nice crust. House wine s a bit funky, but not bad for 3000 a glass. The wine list needs a few lower priced wines on it. The cheapest was the DelCampo @20k/bottle(compare that to the Turkish place where it's only 12k).

I would recommend going on a warm night cause we were cold and promptly left after we had finished, dude needs to run the heaters more often. Overall worth a try if your in the area, has a lot of potential.

Just thought I'd make another post about this place since I've been back a few times and it's kinda grown on me a bit. I've tried a few more dishes and they are all pretty decent. Had the Olive oil pasta which was smaller than the other dishes but nice, the personal pizzas have always been good, nice thin crust and fresh ingredients. The chili pepper pasta is good with a bit of heat, and my friends that ate the seafood cream pasta liked their dishes as well. He has had a nice house wine the past two times I've been there as well and still a steal @ 3,000/glass. The pasta dishes are all 6,000 and fair sized portions, personal pizzas are 9 and 10k. The atmosphere is great with subdued lighting and nice background music, which is probably what keeps the Korean customers away. If you come in a large group except to wait a bit as there are only 2 in the kitchen and one on the floor. And if you get the garlic bread, ask him not to sweeten it >>>

Hate to see this place disappear. . .not saying it's authentic Italian or anything (never been to Italy), but it's not the typical Korean take on pasta, overall a nice dining experience and well worth the price.
