Hey~

Not sure if this is really a new place, but I noticed it for the first time this weekend. There's a "new" deli in the Ganja/outback/TGIF building across from Haeundae beach. I didn't try it, but it looked decent. Pretty big selection of sandwiches and drinks. I didn't have much time, so I didn't try it or even check it out that much. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on it tho.

It's been there about a month, sandwiches are pretty great. I'd say it rivals No Naim and craps on Starlight. Only problem is service can be ridiculously slow. I dropped by for a quick sandwich today and it literally took over half an hour and I was the only person that had ordered at the time. I felt sorry for the people that came in and ordered after me, they probably waited 45 minutes.

Still it's good and I will go back.

Megamart now carries Johnsonville Brats and Dietz-Watson turkey slices..

I was in the store Sunday, and the store is bundling them 2 for 1 !! Mix or match.

Has anyone seen American bacon?

American bacon is nearly always available at Homever, Hauendae or the 2000 Outlet store in Jang Sang.

Best place is Costco...

Does this place sell lunch meat or cheese? or is it just miss-using the name Deli?
Andrew
I just went last night. They don't sell meats or cheese, but they do make a good sandwich. I suggest the steak and cheese.

Simply pathetic.
Andrew
dont go then.

I never actually went there, but it's gone and closed. Another one bites the dust...

Word to the wise; the honkin' packs of bacon at Homever are frozen solid; so unless you eat bacon like Elvis used to (ie, a pack at a time), you won't be able to re-freeze it.

I don't eat bacon fast enough to thaw an entire pound, so this is my strategy. I have been doing this for 10 years in Korea.
I buy a package, put it on my cutting board for 10 minutes, just enough to thaw SLIGHTLY. (actually, its ready by the time I get home from HomeEver) Then I take my cleaver and cut it in half. I put each half in a ziplock freezer bag (quart size) and toss into my freezer. I take one out when I want.

It takes me about 2 - 3 weeks to finish a thawed half. Remember, this meat has lots of nitrates, esp. salts, it won't spoil easily.
Put it in the back/top of your refrigerator, where its coldest.
